Why should I believe what you say, instead of following my own instincts?

Because we’ve designed over a thousand book covers, many of them award winners. (See 1106design.com) And because distributors have asked us to redesign covers that were not up to industry standards. We understand what the industry looks for, and what the industry will reject, and we want to share that information with you.

Will you tell me whether or not my cover is “creative” enough?

No. Creativity is in the eye of the beholder and it’s highly subjective. While it’s important for your book cover to be original and creative, it’s also entirely possible to produce a creative cover that is horribly lacking in the objective requirements of a good cover required by the book trade. The evaluation we offer focuses on the science of book cover design, so that you’ll be able to tell your cover designer exactly what needs to be changed.

We’ll be happy to comply. Simply place an order for each one.

One review is included in the price. We’ll be happy to provide additional reviews, but each one requires another order.

What if I disagree with your evaluation? Can I request a refund?

We spend a lot of time evaluating your book cover, and giving you the information you need to adjust the design to industry standards, so our fees are non-refundable.

Will you redesign or fix my book cover if I request it?

That’s not the purpose of this evaluation. Your current designer should be willing and able to implement the suggestions we make. If not, we’ll be happy to help, and discount any evaluation fees you have paid from the price.

What file formats can you accept?

Our server currently accepts JPG, PNG and PDF file formats. Please note that you will not be able to preview PDF files on screen, but we can receive and review them. This also appears in Step 2 of the order process.
